Actually, he wasn't the only Quincy left skelefied by Yhwach, remember Gerard was also reduced to nothing but a pile of bones by the Auswahlen, which itself doesn't really make sense either given the fact he's suppose to be the heart of the Soul King and everything, so how can Yhwach take something from him (or even given him anything) if by all accounts the Auswahlen shouldn't even be able to work on him at all...?
